Central Oregon Mediation, Inc. (COM) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1997 as the Community Dispute Resolution Program. COM provided dispute resolution services to residents in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties. Support comes from donations, fees for service, charitable foundations and government grants.
MISSION
It is the mission of Central Oregon Mediation to promote and provide easy access to mediation services for Central Oregon residents and families to resolve their conflicts. We train youth and adults to be volunteer mediators to provide these services. OUR MEDIATORS
We recruit and train volunteers to provide COM's mediation services. Mediators also receive ongoing, advanced training. We make every effort to provide bi-lingual mediators.
MEDIATION SERVICES
Mediation helps individual, businesses, neighbors and families with a variety of disputes providing a neutral setting to discuss important issues. COM mediates:

- Workplace Conflict
- Consumer/Business Disputes
- Family/Relationship Conflicts
- Landlord/Tenant Disputes
- Manufactured Home Park Issues
- Land Use Disputes
FACILITATION AND OTHER SERVICES
Our staff and volunteer mediators will help facilitate group discussions and meetings. We can design, organize and facilitate:
- Public Meetings
- Organizational and Board Retreats
- Business Meetings
COM also conducts the mediation program for Deschutes County Justice Court. Litigants must attempt to resolve their disputes through mediation before proceeding to trial before a judge.
Central Oregon Mediation piloted a program in collaboration with Deschutes County Circuit Court to provide mediations for Probate Conservator/Guardianship cases when referred by Circuit Court judges.
